  • BIG NEWS from the lab: We are on the move! Dr. Broussard was recruited to Colorado State University to setup the Sleep and Metabolism Lab in the Department of Health and Exercise Science. Go Rams!!! We start in July 2018.

  • For the final trip of the year, we are off to present at the Conference on The Gut Microbiome in Human Biology and Health and the University of Chicago.

  • After a busy October of grant submissions, Dr. Broussard headed to the Isotope Tracers in Metabolic Research course in Nashville, TN.

  • The team attended the SLEEP 2017 conference in Boston, MA. Oysters, clams and lobster were had by all!

  • Dr. Broussard presented at the Scientific Advancement meeting of the IMAGE group (Investigations in Metabolism, Aging, Gender and Exercise) at the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus.

  • Dr. Broussard presented to the EXAM group (Exercise and Metabolism) at the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus.

  • UROPs (Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program) announced. All three of our applicants were awarded UROPs! Congratulations to Alivia Blumenstein, Brent Knud-Hansen and Jessica Wu. We are so excited to have these students on the team and doing research projects.

  • Dr. Broussard gave a talk at Purdue University in the Department of Nutrition Science Seminar Series.

  • At the yearly Society in Science--The Branco Weiss Fellowship meeting Dr. Broussard gave her final presentation as an exiting fellow.

August 2016

  • Dr. Broussard received a Mentored Research Scientist Development Award from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. There was much rejoicing.

June 2016

  • The team attended the SLEEP 2016 conference where we received the People’s Choice Award for best poster, “Sex differences and time of day effects on 24-hour free fatty acid profiles”. The lab youths enjoyed the gift card award in downtown Denver.

April 2016

  • The team received a University of Colorado Vice Chancellor of Research Innovative Seed Grant Award to study circadian rhythms in clock genes in the skin.

2015

October 2015

  • Dr. Broussard and colleagues attended the 8th Annual Bedside to Bench Conference, “Sleep, Circadian Rhythms, and Aging”, sponsored by the National Institute on Aging and the American Geriatrics Society.

August 2015

  • Dr. Broussard moved from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to the University of Colorado to develop expertise in circadian biology with Dr. Ken Wright, PhD (primary mentor).
